About me - Jimmy Priest

About me

I love to write (even though it tends to drain me) in order to be able to release pent up creative energy, or sometimes I write to gain inspiration.

I often find that if I am blocked creatively on one project that if I turn my attention to a completely different (creative) project it will free up my creative juices and get the ideas flowing.

I find that writing releases unfocused energy and can allow me to go back to other projects with a greater focus.

I work in the marketing and advertising industry and am thoroughly excited that I have discovered this site. I use it to express my views, share my personal experience and improve my copy writing skills.

I also am thankful for spell checker, even though personally I think that it contributes to a "dumbing down" effect.

Sort of like using a GPS system to navigate somewhere, anytime I have ever used one I have found myself unable to recall how I arrived at my destination, and am sure that I would have trouble duplicating the exact route again.

Anyhow, enough babble about me, maybe I will bump into you sometime on here. Until then keep up the good work and let it flow.

Peace,

Jimmy

The front porch holds my memories
dreams, hopes and fears
endless hours I have spent
laughing and shedding tears

The rocking chair stands still
hiding in plain sight
waiting for a companion
to join it through the night

Seeking out laughter and fun
offering good advice
watching children run
giggling and chasing fire flies

The goals of a young boy
the angst of a teen
reflections of a man
how long ago it all seems

Sharing a moment alone
like looking through the glass
at a world that passes by
moving way to fast

A world within a world
where a boy could be king
