About me - Andrea Helaine

About me

My name is Andrea Helaine. I have been a working writer for 6 years and have a wide range of experience, including articles, grants, poetry and stories. In addition to my work as a freelance writer, editor, and grant consultant, I also have a background in teaching. I have a Bachelors of Philosophy, Theology and am currently completing my thesis for an MFA in Creative Writing. I have been published in several anthologies, Spotlight Chicago, and the Chrysalis Literary Magazine. I enjoy writing across genres and am an emerging screenwriter.

On the personal side, I have two young children who bring joy, light, and amazement to my life. They inspire me to continue writing. Even though I am a city girl, we live in a small town on a farm with chickens, an organic garden, and goats. I have lived in several states and in France and have traveled extensively.
