I'm Angela and I'm a mother of six children and I've also been diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder about eight months ago. Since my diagnoses I've made great strides in my recovery. I have a very supportive family and a terrific Psychologist. Without being properly diagnosed I couldn't be getting better as fast as I am. I am telling you this because I want you to understand that people with mental illness have hopes and dreams just as much as other people. I love to write and because of that love I am a Communications Major in college. I want to make a career of writing because of my deep love of words and their effect on people. If people could just step back and think about what they are saying and what the words mean maybe they would rethink what they are about to say. I love flowers and taking care of goats. I grew up on a farm and I love the smell of fresh hay and straw being cut in the fields. I love to hike in the woods and be able to see different wild animals and different kinds of trees and birds. Without all of the different kinds of wonderful things in the wilds life would be very boring indeed. I also love children, I wouldn't have had six if I didn't. Children are a direct ticket into the future and everybody should cherish that. I will leave you with this thought just because somebody is different does that mean they aren't worthy of acceptance?
I can honestly say that multiple personality disorder is the mind protecting itself. I can say this without stuttering because I have been diagnosed with this disorder about eight months ago. I can tell you that this disorder is like walking through a oceanic storm until you become integrated and you become one. Integration doesn't hurt, it as a matter-of-fact calms you down and brings you back into the business of living.
