My parents told me many things... One good thing that they told me is, "you can do it."
My childhood ambition ...
As a child, I wanted to be a poet, a singer, an artist, and writer.
My favorite memory ...
I remember spending time in the Redwoods, seeing the tall trees above and around me, having the fog come in a little, holding a flashlight in my little hands, and feeling secure because I was with my family in what, to me, was like a beautiful natural cathedral and refuge... It was a very beautiful experience.
Why I write ...
I write because I love to communicate with words and ideas.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I am listening to world music, talk shows from the right and left and to NPR too. I am reading self help, fiction, spirituality titles when I find things that look interesting and sometime the local newspaper and various magazines.
My first job ...
My first job, in addition to working on the school newspaper as a newspaper reporter, was as a telemarketer for a photocopier sales company.
My best moment ...
My best moment has not come yet... I love relating with my friends and family. I love the experience of waking up in the morning for another day of living. I enjoy seeing people make progress in their lives. I love the beauty within people as there is so much beauty that is there to be seen. I love the beauty of the world... When I can enjoy these things I experience my best moments.
My inspiration ...
I receive inspiration from my own thoughts, and from all beings from the small insect to the large tree, and of course from people.. All beings, provide me with great inspiration.
There are many who look at the earthquake in Haiti as being much worse than Hurricane Katrina, and I believe that they are right in their assessment. Unfortunately, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti hit a place that was just barely recovering from a long history of pain and suffering caused by decades of political instability and crushing poverty. Those who look back to early January were thinking that finally Haiti had a chance to attain some form of economic self sufficiency, and those who were funding programs in Haiti were focused on that prospect instead of just funding projects focused on...
