: About Me

I'm an average Joe. I've always loved writing and golf, and combining the two endeavors is one of my life's pleasures. I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in a blue-collar family with a steel worker father and homemaker mother. My father introduced me to the game of golf early on, first as the little kid who pulled his golf cart and later as his skins partner when my skill level improved enough to play with "the big boys." My first job was a caddy at a local country club, and during the next ten years I had the wonderful opportunity to witness golf at its best and worst by amateurs and professionals alike. I was privvy to many private conversations between touring professionals that opened my eyes in many ways. I always dreamed of becoming a professional, but played high school and college golf achieving only a modicum of success. Today, I'm a middle aged guy who lives for the game, teaching those willing to learn how to play better for enjoyment, not money. I play in a weekly skins game with a bunch of guys who share my passion for the game, and we live and die for our Sunday tee off times each week. Golf has been and will always will be an important part of my life. To those who share this wonder with me, I extend you a fond hello. We may never have met, but you are my friend.
