Welcome to my Helium page. I like all forms of writing and hope that you will enjoy the articles that I have posted to this site.

Some information about me:
I am from Enniskillen in Northern Ireland originally. A small claim to fame is that I went to the same school as a famous writer by the name of Oscar Wilde (though in different centuries). Now, if only I could match his writing genius!

My writing specialities:

- Article writing:
I have written numerous articles for Helium. Main areas of expertise include personal finance, soccer, tennis, and writing-related articles. I have also been commissioned via Helium's Marketplace.

- Comedy writer:
As a comedy writer, I have had sketches performed in theatres and comedy venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow, in Scotland. Audio recordings are available, should any radio, TV, or theatre publishers be interested in commissioning them. Sketches include themes of science fiction and religious parody.

- Short story / novel writer:
I have a collection of short stories, which are mainly in the genre of crime. Additionally, I have a completed (but unpublished) novel.

Qualifications / experience:
- I have over 10 years managerial experience in the UK financial sector, with particular expertise in matters relating to online banking and mobile phone banking.

- I am the Subchannel Steward for the Spending & Saving part of the Personal Finance section of the site. Please contact me if you have a query about this part of the site.

Professional and academic qualifications held include:

- Law Degree (LLB)
- Banking and Investment Planning qualifications
- Chartered Institute of Marketing diploma

Other relevant training undertaken includes:
- Web usability training
- Effective Communication
- Project management effectiveness.

I also have recent experience of selling and buying property, and arranging a wedding, and the complex project planning that's required to make such processes go smoothly.
