As many know, words can be addictive, but it is the clarity found through words that compels me. An accumulation of words means nothing if it fails to impart something to the reader. I enjoy imagining what the reader is going to think, and delivering my honest knowledge or opinion in such a way as to enhance their reading experience. But I don't alter my truth for any reader, that is, I don't try to cater to their bias if it violates my own. I am open to other's words teaching me something, however.
A former competitive cyclist, a mechanic, any kind of gizmo-fixer, and just a hands-on kind of person. Computer savvy to a point. Photographer in a casual way, but my work has meant something to several groups of athletes and travelers. Woodworking earns me money, historic trim a specialty.
Always got an 'A' in English but don't feel rule-bound in creative writing attempts. Am particular about spelling, but that doesn't mean I'm perfect. Love etymology; knowing the origin of words. Speak Italian, French, and Spanish, to a passable but not rigorous degree. Have a musical ear and have been told my various accents are surprisingly good.
Ever thankful to the 7th grade typing instructor who taught me to touch type. How cool it is to let the words flow through ten fingers, no conscious thought required. Free to express the words from brain, to fingers, to paper or to machine; to you, dear reader.
