Doug Gardner is a freelance writer who writes for enjoyment and relaxation. Doug has spent more than 30 years as an "over the road" salesperson in the printing business. Deciding to retire in 2002, Doug found himself selling automobiles for a friend who owns a local car dealership in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Doug traveled the country playing fast-pitch softball for nearly twenty years, and was inducted into the Wisconsin ASA Softball Hall of Fame in 1997. He has also served as an instructor for various baseball and softball clinics.
An avid golfer, Doug now spends most of his free time writing, playing golf, ballroom dancing, and relaxing with a glass of red wine. He is currently working on three books for publication.
In 1966, a friend of mine, Mike Miller, invited me to go to a football game at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Green Bay Packers were going to play the Minnesota Vikings. Mike's father, I was informed, was a college buddy of Fuzzy Thurston, the All-Pro starting left guard for the Packers.
