About me

As my creative endeavors gain some notoriety, I guess it's time to post an introduction with some historical background information. I am a failed journalist. I spent about a year as a scribe for a central Florida newspaper too many years ago. My editor at the time told me that I was a creative force worthy of a by-line. He also told me that in order to maintain my creativity I had to stay hungry, and to stay hungry I had to stay poor. Therefore, they weren't about to pay me a commensurate salary to the current cost of living. My inability to feed myself would create a hunger that would advance my career beyond the portals of this small town paper. It would spring from my mind a plethora of words for all the world to read. I would publish, not perish, and become famous for putting words together. All I had to be was hungry. Alas, that hunger forced me to find alternative means of support. I gave up the ghost of writing for a living and started living a life without writing.

Years went by and the typewriter begot the word processor and it became easier to put words on paper, so to speak. I no longer needed white out to change my mind, just the back space key. I hadn't written anything other than a letter for years. One dark and stormy night, I sat down in front of a small Apple Mac and started a book. It was fiction and the story was flowing through my fingers like river water through the rapids. The story developed chapter after chapter and approached the crescendo of a climax like that river approaching a dam. And it hit that dam just like writers block. One dark and stormy night indeed, I borrowed that from Snoopy. He never got past that first line. At least I made it to chapter sixteen. The book still sits on the hard drive of a third computer in the middle of chapter sixteen. One day soon I will finish it, I promise.

In the meantime, I can reflect back on the hunger I didn't have all those years ago and perhaps channel it here. I can make better use of my spare time by creating something others might enjoy. I can pick a topic, any topic, and spout forth poetically. If enough people look down upon those ramblings favorably, maybe that will motivate me to finish what I started all those years ago.

Religion & Spirituality > Speculations & Criticisms Did Satan write the Bible?

The history of mankind is fraught with one simple dilemma; mortality. When and where will death take you, and what lies at the end of the rainbow? In actuality, it's not a dilemma, it's an inevitability. We are all born with a shelf life, just like another can of peas. We just cannot read the date that's stamped on our bottoms. So life becomes a mystery, and it's how we approach the end that creates the dilemma. Is God out there waiting to welcome us on high into the pearly gates of heaven? Or is his antithesis, Satan, beckoning from below? Is there even a heaven or a hell, and an all seei...
