My husband, John, and I moved from Hollywood to the Midwest in September 2007, leaving behind our son, actor and filmmaker Jack Sway. My epic, Jud Thorensen, a highly-sexed drama, is pending publication in two volumes. Crucifixion and Sticks & Stones are my published novels. As of April 1 of this year, John and I meditate eight hours daily in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's golden domes.
Comments on writing:
I fantasize about my protagonists (mainly my hunk Jud) and antagonists and I dream up the stories that they live out. I love words and their nuances. As I write, I feel as if I'm taking a block of fine marble and chiseling it into a massive statue. The block first develops into the suggestion of a specific form, then it becomes the specific form, and then, with detailed honing, it breathes life. Its own and mine.
Background:
I was born to a beautiful British teen and a fiery Hungarian on December 24, in a brick house at 102 Abbotts Road in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire England. A drunken midwife helped with the birthing process while my barefoot Dad and Granddad stamped grapes in a claw-foot bathtub. Four years and one baby boy later, our family sailed to Canada. After two years, we trucked to Vermont.
As an adult, I joined the working world, pursued art and music, danced, and practiced Hatha Yoga. I've worked for corporations, owned (modest) businesses, and tried out multi-level marketing. All with successes and heartaches. My loves are my family, nature, music, and art. My obsession is my protagonist Jud Thorensen.
John and I married in England on July 4, after a year of traveling around Europe, which included a three-month stint on Crete. Two years later, our son was born, in California.
Beliefs:
Everyone has the right to live his life how he chooses. Even if others view his choices as vices. Those who want to infringe on others' freedom will likely find their own disappearing. I believe in kindness to each other and to all living things. I appreciate this planet that gives us everything.
Thus, I embrace all that is: the manifest diversity and the unmanifest harmony. Nothing is greater or lesser. Just different. I believe in the validity of one's Self and one's experiences. Either everything is holy or nothing is. All consciousness is One.
