Ode to Fall My visitor approaches with a slow gait that seems to quicken every year. The visits are expected, yet still a surprise. This visitor is always intrusive, not wanted here. It threatens to stop the party that should go on forever. It makes a blustery entrance strong enough to scatter the brown and black crusted streamers into random clumps on the golden dance floor. The visitor offers no apology. Its only gift is the dreaded chill that chases any remaining warmth, telling me once again, it's time to wrap myself in memories.
