I am a proud father of four adult daughters and a grandfather and a great-grandfather to be. I have been blessed with seventeen grand children. I served in the United States Air Force for 17 years,left with a disability in 1987.
While in the Air Force, I travelled to thirty five countries on four continents. I also visited forty two states in this country. I enjoyed my travels because I read about most of the places I visited during high school.
I have owned several businesses. My favorite pasttime is reading, writing, cooking and interacting with my grandchildren.

In March 1965 I celebrated my 15th birthday by planting a melon garden. It was a watermelon garden to be exact. I grew up on our farm in Dallas County Alabama outside of the city limits of Selma. This garden was very special to me because I didn't think it would amount much to anything. The reason I thought so negatively was I doing something special in my life.
