After the book - and main character - of the same name, I'm a feisty, strong-willed, and passionate woman. Born and raised in southern Louisiana, I'm infinitely proud of my Cajun heritage and am pleased to say I was, quite literally, "raised on the bayou".
Coming from a land where ghosts and ghost stories were as common and accepted as the gray, curling moss dripping from the oak and pecan trees, my precocious young mind was constantly stoked, feeding an already rampant imagination. I have been writing for as long as I could hold a pen; in fact, I've never "not" written. Even before I could hold pen to paper and form my thoughts into tangible words, brilliant and colorful stories played out in my puerile mind. Putting them to paper was simply a natural extension of what I was born to do.
I am, in my thirtieth season on this trip around the Sun, employed by my beloved state's government as an i.t. tech and web designer. My spare time is spent writing and graving - my two latest and greatest passions. I share my home with my very-Cajun boyfriend of seven years and our furry cat-children: Gia, JoJo, Maggie, & Max.
Spiritually-speaking (for what else is more important in this life than the advancement of our souls for the betterment of all?), I am a Zen Hindu Pagan Buddhist - if you had to label me (though I'd prefer if you didn't). I believe there is beauty and truth to be found in *all* religions and enjoy each of them for what they bring into my life. As to claiming one, singular one for my own, I just feel there is no one religion that can encompass all I am and believe. My "religion" is like me; forever changing, growing, evolving.

We all know that drinking and driving isn't the best of ideas; in truth, however, its something a lot of us do or are tempted to do from time to time. It's common to think that one or two drinks and the feeling of being sober mean we're okay to drive. Unfortunately, statistics show that even one drink of an alcoholic beverage can impair your judgment and motor skills, and in many states that one drink can be enough to send your blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
Though we know drinking and driving isn't safe or legal, there are times many of us tempt fate. Perhaps we've only had ...
