SONG OF THE GODDESS "Spring free" She whispered Her hands were fast I could not see them But I heard the notes Inseparable That made the music Whirl from her instrument Reunited After so long Through our dreams Only a mother who dreams Can birth the dawn Only a mother who sings Can birth the joy A box made from fiber seed Stood at her feet The shining wood of her sitar Like the spell of a revelation And she sang Awakening my voice.
