About me

I was a crazy kid, always in trouble, aimless and, at times, very confused. Eventually, I ended up spending time in a boys ranch. Following that, I did the logical thing a kid would do in my situation, I joined the military. The two influences in my life, during my younger years were my dad and the United States Navy. The influence of the Navy was immediately apparent; that of my dad took some years and maturity to see in its fullness. I am 41, now and looking back, I really am amazed that I even survived some of the stupid things I've done. I have a variety of interests and a few passions. One passion is teaching. I teach High school English. Another passion of mine is men's issues. I am a sort of "life coach" for young men navigating their way through the conundrum American society projects as expectations of manhood.
