About me - Clarkson Wroe

About me

I am English, a lapsed product of the Northern working class, an endangered species but yet to feature on any protected list' especially one produced by any recent British Government. I am middle aged, providing that I live well past 100 with a very long suffering wife and two daughters who pity me enough to love me. My day job is a marketeer mostly in sport and travel which luckily are areas that interest me a great deal. Marketeer' can be used as a derogatory term and I can see both sides of the argument. I have written a great deal in a marketing capacity for trade journals and press releases and to counter that have for many years jotted down my own manic and disjointed views of the world and things of consequence to me usually after several glasses of wine and a heated discussion in a local drinking establishment with one or more of the odd and opinionated group of friends that I seem to have acquired over the years.
I look forward to becoming a part of the Helium experience and hope that some of you out there in interweb land will enjoy my contributions.

The closest I have yet come to producing my masterpiece was when several years ago I researched thoroughly the 1902 Cricket Season during which Gilbert Jessop crouched his way to a lightening hundred against the Aussies and Wilfred (Rhodes) and George Herbert (Hirs...
