I discovered my passion for writing in the third grade. While other kids brought their favorite doll, pet lizard, or coolest toy to show-and-tell, I read stories I had written. It wasn't until my senior year in high school that I became serious about my writing. I entered a state short story competition . . . and lost.
Undeterred, I went to college and learned the art of technical writing. My career has included producing documentation for video chipsets, user guides for various government software applications, and training ISP technical support staff.
I have not neglected my creative side, either. Maiden of Pain, my first novel, was published in 2005. I continue to submit short stories to various markets while working on my second novel. I also blog about writing fantasy fiction at www.pensandswords.com.
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest with my wife and two children.
Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) was created in 1974 by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, and is the grandfather of all roleplaying games (RPGs). The game of D&D involves a group of players, one of whom is the Dungeon Master (DM), going through an adventure in a fantasy world. It is the DM's responsibility to not only referee the rules of the game, but to bring the adventure to life through vivid descriptions and exciting encounters.
