I was born and raised in Binscarth, Manitoba, the youngest of four girls. Contrary to popular belief, I was not the spoiled one of the family. My older sisters broke my parents in so I could not get away with much of anything. They knew all the tricks already! After graduating from high school, I moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness after four years of enjoyable study.
I lived in Virden, MB for a brief period of time after graduation. I worked for LouisDreyfus sourcing grain from producers. It is here that I met my future husband. In pursuit of better jobs, we decided to move to Winnipeg. I found employment with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, first with the department's disaster assistance program and then with the market and trade division.
After the birth of our two sons, we moved to Elm Creek, Manitoba to raise our family in a small town. I have been lucky enough to find the opportunity to work from home with Statistics Canada while my husband works in nearby Portage la Praire. We also have a small purebred Hereford cattle herd.
Between working full time, helping out on the farm, and chasing around two young, energetic boys, I am not left with much spare time to write. But I try to grab snippets of quiet time whenever I can. It may be during lunch time when I am in the office or when my husband is chauffering us around. I am ready to write whenever and wherever. My handy notebook is never too far away!
I have started my publishing career with romance novels. It is a genre that interests me - it is a happy ending when things are a little tough. I can escape into someone else's life and have everything work out in the end, something that may not be attainable in real life.
I am also working on a series of children's books based on our family pets, Oscar and Buddy. The books were developed through stories I used to make up for my boys when I was nursing them.

The rock echoes as it rumbles down the long sheet of ice. A yell sets brooms in motion, their shushing against the ice adding to the noise. The yelling continues as the rock draws closer to the red, blue, and white rings drawn on the ice. The rings are littered with other rocks. With a loud crack, the rock in motion crashed into a stationary rock, sending it hurtling into a group of rocks clustered at the centre of the rings. A loud cheer erupts as the rocks all come to rest again. All across Canada, from tiny settlements of only a few people to large urban ce...
