Reading has been a passion, fiction and non-fiction of almost any genre, as long as the writing is first rate. Story tellers who are superb word-smiths are my favorites, for fiction of course, but also to bring non-fiction to life.
I'm a "geek". From the early days of computing, when a computer with considerably less power then today's cell phones took up a whole floor of a large office building, to today's Web 2.0, I enjoy the work because it constantly changes.
Early on, most of my "on-the-job" writing was highly technical. As my career has progressed, broader topics of general business management, and the impact of technology on a firm's direction, have become my forte.
I've been involved in politics, both as a candidate, and helping others with their campaigns. Position papers and speeches were sometimes successful, sometimes not. Oh well.
From time-to-time, I've experimented with writing outside of work and politics. Encouraged by family members and friends, several of whom have been published, I've decided to make a concentrated effort to spread my writing wings.
Now's the time to see if I can write well enough to please myself, while adding value and providing enjoyment for my readers. It will be a learning experience, so let me know how you think I'm doing.
There are as many reasons for NASCAR's popularity as there are NASCAR fans. Well, maybe not that many, but close. Let's take a look at some of the more important.
First - the racing is more competitive then any other form of motor sports. Sure there are rare exceptions when someone will take a NASCAR race by 15 seconds or more, and even rarer exceptions when an INDY, or Grand Prix circuit contest, will be won by less then that. But race in and race out, NASCAR finishes are breath taking. Some complain about the constant changing of the rules to deliver this. But that's what it take...
