Writer's Bio
I was raised by my grandmother, who taught 6th grade English for 42 years in New York City. She instilled in me a great love for the language and allowed me to kibbitz over her shoulder when she did the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle.
I had a great English teacher, Mr. Knefley, who showed me the dramatic power of words when they are put together in the right pattern.
Hemingway and Steinbeck taught me the value of terseness as a tool to get one's point across to the intended audience. My favorite author, Sam Clemens, showed me how to deliver a message by sweetening it with humor.
I have survived my youth, which included a tour in the military during Vietnam and the subsequent escape from reality as a "sixties hippie".
I am currently employed as a technical writer. My grand goal is to write a decent novel.
