My story is shaping up something like this:
I am the mother of two beautiful and utterly brilliant children. (Well, now - aren't they all?) I ride shotgun beside a big ole' tall, burly man (the father of the children) I married 17 years ago. Together we own a heavy equipment rental company.
I am a published author and freelance writer, fascinated by the colors of communication. (Some more colorful than others.)
I have a twin sister who is truly an extension of myself. My older sister is one of the strongest people I know...
I dabble in music and enjoy skydiving, travel, photography, good art, and unusual collections. (I collect rocks from far-flung regions during my travels, Gibson guitars, pocket knives from childhood, and have upgraded to handguns and rifles.) ~I can shoot the head off a moving snake in the grass at 25 yards. I am licensed to carry concealed and am a strong advocate for women's self-defense. (The nightly news would be considerably different and certainly shorter if women were better prepared for hulking hooligans.)
I also ride a Harley Sportster, which for a small-framed woman, is like a bug on the back of a bull.
I believe everyone should rush headlong into life, grasp it with both hands, and feel its texture as it slips through fingers that cannot hold it.
My passion is ...
my children, my husband, and the feel of my spirit in motion.
I know too much about ...
God to ever doubt.
My parents always told me ...
"There is good in everybody if you look deep enough." (...This is, however, debatable!)
My childhood ambition ...
To be a musician.
My favorite memory ...
Traveling Out West in a Jeep Wrangler with my husband and children on an 8,700-mile-cross-country road trip! These are the memories that will sustain me when I'm old and gray and waiting for the nurse to bring my oatmeal.
Why I write ...
The pen cuts through the clutter in my mind and gives voice to thoughts and emotions rattling inside its walls...
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
"The Day I Ate Whatever I wanted" by Elizabeth Berg/Pandora, Grooveshark/Classics & Audio Books on XM Radio
My first job ...
Shoving paper into a printing press.
My best moment ...
Receiving unabashed love from an adoring child
My inspiration ...
I want my world to be full of color, so that when life turns inward, the view will still be beautiful.
I am a leaf in the wind I am the branch of a tree I am a fish in the stream I am the buzz of a bee. I am the light in a window I am the coolness of night I am the dawn of morning I am the colors of light. I am the voice of a mother I am the smile of a child I am the hand of a father I am the call of the wild. I am the peace in contentment I am the rage of strife I am everyone and anything I am ...life.
