Hi! I am a proud Melbournian, and have lived in Melbourne, Australia, all my life, except for a three year stint in Perth, Western Australia. Melbourne's heart and soul is magical, and the brilliant coffee and truly magnificent food from cultures all over the globe is enviable. Did I mention I was proud of Melbourne?!
I have a BA in Psychology and Media, and a BA in Musical Theatre, and I can tell you that the psychology came in rather handy whilst studying Theatre in Perth at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
I'm an actor, singer, dancer, voice over artist, teacher, and playwright who is discovering the definition of versatility every living breathing day. It is one of the true joys of working in the Arts. It is also what makes it one of the most frustrating and seemingly heartless industries at times.
My career is determined by all the dedication, energy, focus and skill I can muster...plus a little added luck along the way! You never know what is around the corner, so I can never complain that my life is predictable that is for sure. And I never want it to be either.
I love creating and being a part of new works. I discovered writing as a way of exploring my voice and the stories that I wanted to share, and have now had two of my original works produced on stage. The first was a short play called "Don't Give Up Your Day Job", and the second (which is being redeveloped as we speak for a few Australian festivals), is a cabaret called "Cultural Time Bomb" which explores the damaging physical and psychological scarring of gang rape. Yes I know, not the lightest of story lines, but even with the delicate subject matter, I found that audiences were keen to continue the conversation after the show finished. I guess that is the best form of positive feedback you can get. The audience was engaged long after the curtain fell, and I have never felt such a sense of fulfillment in my work before.
I love cooking, traveling the world, bikram yoga, my husband (who makes me laugh everyday), and my gorgeous dog Lulu. I now know what it is like to walk next to a star, because I can't walk anywhere without being stopped by someone wanting to pat her. Aah the joys of beauty!

My favorite memory ...
My wedding day! What a mystery tour that was! The guests only knew to arrive at Daylesford Railway station at 3.30pm, but had no idea what would happen next! What a day!
Why I write ...
To open up my imagination, move past the dribble and create stories and characters that are important to me.

At what point do we realise that we have lost a sense of our creativity? Is it on the first day when we go to write, paint, draw, or sing and decide that suddenly our office needs a really good reorganising? Is it after a week, when we have spent every moment procrastinating finding anything else to be busy doing rather than the creative venture we should be busy doing? Or perhaps it is after a month when we still cannot seem to find any creative inspiration, and just feel utterly unmotivated and useless, because as our chosen profession, we should be able to choose when we are creative an...
