About me - Shannon Lawrence

About me

I'm an aspiring writer in my 30's, who also happens to be a mother to two, sibling to four, daughter to two and wife to one! Though I've just begun in my pursuit of a professional writing career, I bring many life experiences to the table, as well as many years of writing for the sheer pleasure of it. As a teen, I was invited to participate in writing contests, and co-wrote an opera that was performed and taken in by the Imagination Celebration of Colorado.

I have an Associate's in Psychology, and intend to pursue a dual degree in English and Psychology. My life experiences include family, parenting, pregnancy, breastfeeding, education, management, accounting, and theater work. My interest in reading, movies, live performances, hiking, scrapbooking and a multitude of other hobbies and interests provide me with even more knowledge to share.

Other than being a stay-at-home mother to my beautiful children, I am an independent contractor for the text information companies of ChaCha and KGB. By answering questions with these companies, I run across a lot of little-known information and exercise my knowledge-seeking and research muscles. I enjoy being able to use these new experiences to further my writing abilities, as well as my personal knowledge.

The alternatives are far worse, and adoption helps those on both sides of the issue by providing solutions both can live with. Rather than being kept in an unhappy home or killed before there has been a chance at life, a child can be given a new and better home. The...
