I am a forty something year old wife and mother of three. Currently I am staying home with them, but I am also an elementary school teacher. I feel very lucky to be able to be here for my children.
Prior to joining the mini van set, I was educated at Moravian College and then began teaching. My goal was to teach inner city, which I did, until the birth of my first child.
Before teaching, I worked for ten years with children labeled "delinquent." I am always thrilled to hear from them, and touched when they include me in their lives.
My husband is a lovely, if somewhat absentminded English professor. He can quite easily quote obscure poems of the 18th century, but needs reminders to comb his hair. What is most important to me is that he is a wonderful father and I'm blessed to have him.
My days, are filled with doing for my family, the typical suburban stuff. It can get monotonous from time to time, but I try to remember "The days are long, but the years are short." If you had ever told me, fifteen years ago that I would become a Brownie leader, I would have laughed until I peed my pants!
I enjoy reading, taking long walks with the dog, the quiet after my kids are asleep, time out with my girl friends and time in with my husband.
I have always enjoyed writing and love being able to practice my skills here. I especially like being rated by others. You can get a real feel for how good a piece is by the rating it gets. You also get see what you're good at. It seems, in my case, my humorous stories go over best. Who knew?

The last thing they needed was competition from some Nordic Goddess. Sarah wasn't what they had expected, much to the boys disappointment and the girls relief. She was short, with long brown hair and intelligent, to the extreme. She had come to this country to study, really study and was not impressed with anyone who was preoccupied with sports. I met Sarah (who pronounced her name "Soorah") because she was i...
