About me - Eleanor O'Donnell

aboutme

I'm a Mother of one in her mid-twenties with a little more life experience than perhaps a twenty-something should have. I have a keen interest in constantly updating my knowledge and education; a (slightly obsessive) quality that has driven me from a very young age.

I enjoy a wide range of hobbies and interests; especially reading and writing, crafts, family history research, music and women's history. Having indulged in all of these passions for many years now, I feel confident in passing on the knowledge I've built up in these areas.

I found myself compelled to research the ins and outs of pregnancy and parenting to a great extent when I was expecting in 2005; so I also feel I'm in a good position to advise others on a variety of related subjects. I'm especially knowledgeable on the subject of weaning and child nutrition having weaned my son on what equates to a vegan diet due to a combination of family beliefs and medical problems.

I get an equal amount of enjoyment out of reading and learning as I do writing and educating. For that reason, I'm a sub-channel steward for the Arts and Humanities Channel under Languages (other). If there's something quirky or niche that you want to write about regarding a language, that doesn't fit into one of the mainstream language categories, then please make sure you stop by.

I'm always happy to offer my assistance in any way I can, so please feel free to message me if there's anything I can do for you.

I would encourage every new parent to consider the benefits of this particular discipline method before resorting to any other; not only for the sake of harmony within your household during the early years but equally because of the way in which this kind of discipline strategy will equip your child to deal with life as they mature.

THE STRATEGY

The strategy behind employing time-outs is simply that when your child misbehaves you remove them fro...
