Hello! I am a newbie to this game. I've been writing and composing in my head since I was a young boy. For twenty years I've longed to have the time to sit down and write the crazy ideas that pop into my head on a regular basis, but the demands of work and raising a family have made that a slow process, at best. But, no more! Like many others, it is my dream to be a published writer, and, perhaps, even to make a living at same. To this end I have vowed to put as much effort into my writing, and learning the publishing game, as it requires to become successful. No one has to tell me how long and difficult a road I'm on. But I've conquered a number of fields, and more then a few have taxed my intellect and physical strengths. From serving in the Marine Corps. as a communications technician, to roofing houses, and on to learning the diesel mechanic trade, I've enjoyed the mental and physical stimulus of my experiences, and can share much with other avid readers, like myself. My favorite reading and writing subject has always been the sci-fi genre, but recently I've found a compilation of Edgar Allen Poes works,(an eighty year old copy, no less) and I find his stories to be simply fascinating.

For years the battle between my enemy and myself had raged on. The taunting, the chases that led across the border, all had blurred together to me, to become an obsession.
Every spring I tried a new strategy. Sometimes I drew from the history of other great battles. more often then not I hatched crazy ideas all winter long, only to be foiled by my enemies sheer strength of numbers.
My neighbors are plagued with the same fur bearing barbarians, but they all take a passive stance, saying that they really aren't the enemy, but a natural part of the environment, and should be left to whatev...
