Currently I am attending University of West Florida in Pensacola and will graduate in the Spring of 2012. I started with a major in journalism, though now I am majoring in environmental studies. I have been an avid reader since I was young, and a writer since I was 14. For the past 6 years I have been working on a book series which I hope to have completed and published by February of 2014.
Writing has always been a way for me to be creative. I began working for the school paper when I was a freshman in high school, which led to my work on this site as a freelance writer for newspapers, magazines, and the occassional editing requests.
As mentioned above, I am an Environmental Science major on a geography track. My experience in environmental studies covers botany, agriculture & sustainability, technical writing, conservation of resources, global cultural geography, general anthropology, geomorphology (with an emphasis on coastal morphology), cartography skills, sediment & soils analysis, Microsoft Power Point & Excel data representation, methods & techniques in environmental resource management and planning, environmental project planning and execution, GIS data collection and applications, ArcMap & Arc Catalog, weather and climatology, and after completion of Fall semester 2011 I will have an understanding of urban planning.
Since this site is a writing commune, and used as a hub for freelance work, I prefer to keep my biography brief and relatively professional. If you wish to contact me, please reach me through email or my facebook account.

ABSTRACT Accumulation of plastics and other non-biodegradable substances in tidal dead-zones has been on the rise since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Studies performed along the west coast of the United States have recently found higher densities of neustonic plastic in coastal waters than zooplankton. Large build-up sites occur around the world, with two leading locations in the North Pacific and the North Atlantic. Plastic marine pollution is a substantially large environmental concern, yet direct discussion and description of the scope of the problem is lacking....
