While I do not have a professional background in writing, it has always been a passion of mine. I am currently a student pursuing a degree in Graphic Design (it took me a few years to settle on one major), and hope to one day go into business for myself as a freelance designer.
I have two books as yet unpublished; a novel that has taken the better part of three years to perfect, and a children's book still awaiting the perfect illustrator (it is currently my featured article here on Helium). I hope to have at least one of them published in the next year, even if I have to do it myself.
I am 23 years old, and will be forever if I have anything to say about it! I live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with my husband, my cat, and my most prized possession-this computer. I volunteer as a counselor for those with backgrounds similar to my own, and a point of contact for those wishing to change things in their life, but with no way to go about it.
My passion is ...
writing, for any reason at all.
I know too much about ...
role-playing games
My parents always told me ...
not to believe half of what anyone said in praise, and less than that in criticism
My childhood ambition ...
To accomplish everything, to know everything, and to feel nothing.
My favorite memory ...
Driving into San Francisco with my best friend, in the middle of the night.
Why I write ...
If I didn't, I honestly believe I would spontaneously combust.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Watching Sweeney Todd, listening to the sound of silence at 5 AM
My first job ...
Working for my mother, in her day care. I still miss it.
My best moment ...
My wedding day, though in hindsight, it wasn't much. It was perfect.
My inspiration ...
People in my life who have left an impression.
Once there was a puppy with brown eyes named Maggie. Maggie loved to run and jump and chase the cat all day long! Sometimes she would roll around in the grass, or sneak up on Mommy from behind, letting out a loud YIP! when she was right behind her. Mommy always jumped up and screamed, "AAAH!", then she would turn around and hug Maggie while she laughed. "You scared me, little one!" she would say as she hugged Maggie. Maggie would smile and lick Mommy's nose. One night, Maggie had too much energy to sleep. When the sun went down, Mommy and Daddy gave Maggie a drink, took her outside to go p...
