Hello, my name is Ray Blacketer. I am 1/2 Native American and 1/2 Irish. I am 57 years old, have 2 children, both boys. Dillon is 17 and Cody 14. I have been sober since March 17th, 1978 and a member of a 12 step organization since then.
I love to read and have written articles, a few of which have been printed. No paying ones though!
I do have a website which is under construction. When it is completed I will include a link to it.
I live on a small Indian reservation in Oregon and currently work for the Siletz Tribe. I ran our tribal newspaper for a year, which I enjoyed very much.
Prior to working for the tribe, I was a logger and mill worker until a health condition forced me to change job fields. I truly haven't found my niche yet, but do enjoy writing, specifically about recovery, politics and philosophy. I was raised in a small logging town on the Oregon coast and was not raised around any Native's, so in my mind, I am just another run of the mill baby-boomer. My web page will be called, "More American Than Native".
I have attended college but have not graduated. I have been thinking of writing a work of fiction which would combine elements of booze, recovery, lost love, para-psychology and politics.

"Reason is the enemy of faith".....Martin Luther
Considering the religious wars throughout the centuries, up to and including today, the persecution of others "by" religions, religious intolerance towards human reason and intellect, and the misery created by religious dogma, I think it is time that reasoned, rational individuals who do not believe in the supernatural in any form, should become truly "intolerant" of all religions, not just Islam.
It is time for rational people to put their foot down and tell religionists that we are through being fodder for their wars and terrorism. ...
