I'm also known in the cyber world as Wordsmith1956.
Live, laugh, learn - and then write about it! I have always believed that learning is a lifelong experience and that people should continue to grow and learn their entire lives. Travel is the best way to learn.
My passions include Jesus Christ, writing, traveling, quilting and gardening. I am married with 4 grown children and 5 growing granddaughters. Family is SO important!
I am a volunteer telephone hotline worker for assisting domestic abuse victims. I have fibromyalgia but refuse to let it keep my high spirits low.
I have wanted to write since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and am finally fulfilling my dream. I am embarking on a travel writing journey and having a ball doing it. I have written a novel and am currently working on another, as well as a memoir.
Come with me as I travel, learn, write and grow!
My passion is ...
my family-especially my 5 granddaughters
I know too much about ...
Fibromyalgia - and how awful removing wallpaper is!
My parents always told me ...
Family is everything
My childhood ambition ...
to be a writer!
My favorite memory ...
being present at four of my granddaughter's births. Wow.
Why I write ...
I can't stop it from happening, any more than I can stop the voices in my head.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
writing while hubby puts up baseboard in the living room.
My first job ...
babysitting for a real brat
My best moment ...
When I accepted Jesus
My inspiration ...
My grandmother
Blonde silken strands slipping through my fingers
As her eyelids droop, fighting sleep;
"Sing to me, Nana." a sleepy voice, her eyes dreamy,
Her thumb working her rosebud mouth
Sleepy, but not willing to give up the day.
I kiss her nose, still scented of her bath.
"Will you still be here tomorrow?"
Her voice barely a whisper in the crisp sheets.
I smile a murmur into the warmth of her neck,
Pulling her close, wishing I could pull her closer;
"I will, my sweet; come wake me when you get up."
She nods, so gently it would take a Nana to see,
And closes her eyes, finally willing...
