I have lived in the beautiful State of Maine for almost three years now. Much to my great disappointment, I have not yet seen a moose or a black bear. I figured they'd be hanging out in my backyard, playing pinochle with lobsters.
I've recently returned to college after a long absence, and plan to get a Bachelor's degree in Media Writing, with a minor in Business.
A fair amount of writing passes through my keyboard: Articles for Helium (of course)... blogs on myspace and wordpress... and a novel-in-progress. The novel takes place in Maine, and has at least one moose in it.

Gauge (rhymes with "page") is arguably the most important element of a successful knitting project. Gauge is simply the number of stitches per inch in a knitted piece. A small (or fine) gauge will consist of lots of very small stitches, while a larger gauge will consist of fewer but larger stitches. When following a knitting pattern, you have to pay close attention to the gauge, otherwise your finished product will not be the right size.
