Are humans designed to be monogamous? Perhaps not. We are told that the males of our species have the biological impulse to spread their genes as widely as possible. But what about women? A recent study found that when a woman has intercourse with two different men, say in the same day, each man's sperm actually compete with each other, attempting to destroy one another to win the prize of fertilising the egg.
