The main problem of animal cruelty is it is allowed to exist. Society only pays lip service to the concern for the safety, care and well being of our God-given four-legged creatures. There are not enough animal cruelty laws in existence and those that are enacted are rarely taken seriously. I have witnessed heinous acts of cruelty in the media only to see owners slapped on the wrists and in some incredibly flabbergasting instances, given re-ownership of the animal(s).
