I retired from teaching elementary school in 1995. I worked for five years in private industry, then took a job teaching at a residential treatment center for troubled, young boys.I decided to retire again at age 62. I have a BA in liberal arts, an M.Ed in Elementary Ed, and an M.Ed in Instructional Technology.
I have tuned and repaired pianos since 1986.
Many years ago, I had several short stories published in a small startup magazine that has since gone bust.
I dabble in photography. I love to write short stories and articles about almost anything. In the past I've tried my hand flying(never soloed);golf(really terrible);archery(won a father/son tournament);shooting (still have several nice pistols and rifles);saltwater fly-fishing(really got into that, boat and all the toys). I do a lot of gardening and repairs around the house.(built a garage,sun-room,installed new windows);cook(I make a mean chicken francaise and I'm told my stuffed mushrooms are to die for);owned a MGB(Hot,uncomfortable, and finicky). Oh! And I just inherited Nanook, an American Eskimo Dog(he's a great friend.)
Since my second retirement, I find myself reading and writing. I've got a lot of catching up to do. My favorite summer pastime now is going to the beach club, and sipping a scotch or two while I read or write.

He was an inventor, engineer, mathematician, poet and cosmologist.
He was the last of the New England Transcendentalists, and true to his beliefs, rejected established religion and political ideas of the past. He, instead, embraced and idealistic system of thought that saw the essential unity in the natural w...
