About me

The author is a retired Civil Engineer, with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering from London University. He follows the religion of Zarathustra and is a Parsi. After a professional career spanning 35 years and culminating as Head of the Civil Engineering Department in India's largest business house, the author retired in 2005, at the age of 60. He is currently living in Mumbai, India; and he has spent most of his adult life there, except for a three year stint in the 1970s in Tehran, as a Technical Advisor to the Iranian Ministry of Energy.

Although the author was educated in India, before going to London for his graduate degree, he studied at an Anglo-Scottish school in Mumbai; and thus has always had an excellent command of the English language. The author is not a professional writer, but he has had articles published in Indian magazines and several letters printed in leading Indian newspapers. He also has a few blogs with a combined readership of almost two million. The author is on the editorial advisory board of "Freedom First", a monthly magazine that espouses liberal political views.

For the author, writing used to be a hobby; now it is a passion. He does not write for gain or fame, but because it makes him complete. People fascinate him and he has friends - offline and online - all over the world. He tries to be tolerant, but he has a high IQ and does not suffer fools gladly. The first thing he looks for in a new friend is a sense of humor: next comes honesty and respect for other points of view. His other loves are romantic movies and soft music.
