PROFILE:
Bai Maleiha is a focused writer who espouses justice, peace and interfaith unity in the midst of the decaying moral and cultural fibers of many people owing to political vindictiveness, power struggle and hypocritical pro-poor concerns masking vested interest and self-promotion.
She used to edit and publish her own community paper from 1997 to 2001. At the height of the 2000 Mindanao war, she allied with her fellow journalists to call for peace.
Known to be feisty in her writings, she is also very straightforward in person. She says what is on her mind without fear or favor.
She is always comfortable with true people and loves to spend time with people who are humble and kindhearted. She hates elitism.
She does not fear powerful personalities but she obliges herself to respond positively to humble actions.
BAI MALEIHA graduated with a degree in Psychology and took masteral studies in Public Administration and Program for Development Management.
WHY SHE WRITES?
Writing is her bloodline. It allows her to share her innermost thoughts and principles relative to the issues that she could personally relate to. She finds issues on justice, family, women empowerment, interpersonal relationship and politics very interesting to write about.
Writing is likened to the air she inhales into her lungs and just like her thirst for water, she wants to satisfy her need to express her mind and connect with all kinds of people from all walks of life.
HOW SHE WRITES?
Effective writing for her is transmitting her ideas with clarity without bias or prejudice against any group or race.
Clarity of her position with moral lessons are two indispensable characteristic of her articles and which she heavily imposes upon herself whenever she writes.
It is imperative too that she avoids redundancy of thoughts and the use of excess words. Whenever possible, she would like to summarize her points in two or three sentences. Why? For most readers get tired easily with long paragraphs and superfluous use of words.
Bai Maleiha views writing as an art that demands innovation and distinct style based on the character of the writer and the issue that he or she writes. She sees this as inevitable for according to her, writers inked their thoughts dependent on how they perceive the events happening inside or outside themselves.
Bai adds that "A writer's craft is his personal statement".
She looks forward to learning and interacting with the good writers of Helium.
Thank you for having interest in her profile and for finding time to know her a little more.
