About me

Hello!

I welcome opportunities to share truth and information in the genres of Christianity, nutrition, pets, health, business, personal finance, home tips, family, and gardening, among others. Having started my professional career late in life, I am humbled to have opportunities to help people by sharing information.

I began writing and publishing my Christ-centered e-zine, Words of Encouragement, in 1995. I saw it as an opportunity to work at home using Christian print media to teach moral and Biblical values using God's Word, the Bible. I've expanded my ministry all over the world teaching people the Word of God.

In 2003, I decided to improve my writing skills and my knowledge of print media by taking a Barnes & Noble course called, "Thinking Like Your Editor". It was a tremendous help! My first article was an opinion piece published in our local paper in 2003. I also published two articles in FrontLine Magazine, earning my first fee as a professional writer.

In late 2003, I went back to school to finish my business degree. I graduated from Empire State College in 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Management, & Economics with a concentration in Organizational Development.

In 2004, I published another article for FrontLine Magazine. As a favor, I wrote a devotional tract for a friend, and for fun, I published a sermon online.

When I decided to actively pursue a writing career in 2006. I took another Barnes & Noble course called, "Writing for Quick Cash" to learn how to sell articles.

That same year, my writing career took off. Through an Internet contact, I received an opportunity to write approximately fifty travel articles for a company in the UK. I also was published in an Australian anthology about Alzheimer's Disease called "Stolen Moments". More articles were published in History's Women, Cross & Quill, Brave Hearts, Discipleship Journal, and Dollar Stretcher.

A friend of mine talked me into participating in Chris Baty's National Novel Writing Contest (NaNoWriMo). I was thrilled to be a winner of the 2006 NANOWRITER Award, and to finish with a rough draft for my first novel. I am in the process of putting on the finishing touches and deciding on a publication strategy.

In 2007 I published articles in Priority, Simple Joy, The Dabbling Mum, Dollar Stretcher, At the Center, and Relate Magazines.

In 2008, I published an article in At the Center. I also participated in writing a book review as a Zondervan Advance Reader. In February, 2008, I began writing for Helium.

In 2009, I self-published my first booklet titled, Homeschooling: The Modern Day One Room Schoolhouse. <http://www.cafepress.com/lindahull.344519378> This is a how to homeschool book for beginners struggling to figure out how to get started.

While many of my professional writing opportunities now come through Helium's Marketplace, I am still pursuing other opportunities. I had the privilege of writing web copy for a friend's webpage, plus I published another article for Dollar Stretcher.

I am thankful for my small successes and know that my Lord has provided writing opportunities.

On a personal note, I am happily married with two grown sons. My husband and I pursue a hobby of photography, using our photos on print-on-demand products at our online stores.

Homeschool learning happens all day long! Scheduling specific teaching times will hone skills and foster opportunities to learn new ones. Your daily teaching schedule will depend on the ages of your children and your education plan.
Homeschoolers actually keep several schedules. One is the yearly schedule. This establishes the goals for the year.
