About me - Mary Grundy

aboutme

I was born in Canada and raised for the most part in the Northwest Territories. Four years ago my kids, my partner and I moved to Scotland. The people are lovely, but if I hear "Ach, but it's a dry cold," one more time...
Writing is something I've been doing in my head for as long as I can remember. When I was wee, it was letters to my Gram. I still do that sometimes, even though she's been gone for years.
Like most writers, I have a day job. Mine is teaching in special programs at a further education college. I am lucky in that I can honestly say I love my job. My ambitions for writing are to keep enjoying it and to someday make a living from my words. For now, I'll keep reporting for classroom duty.

The Anti-Aging Diet seems to have a few manifestations, but perhaps the most famous one was devised by Dr. Roy Walford. He asserted that by eating a high-nutrient, low-calorie diet, we can live longer, healthier lives. He did not proclaim to remove wrinkles and age spots.

Working in Biosphere 2 as the resident doctor, Walford noticed that the team's medical tests (cholesterol, blood pressure, heart rate, etc) improved as food production failed to meet the expected levels, and everyone ate a lot less. Earlier in his life, during the 1960's, his experiments on mice showed that those with c...
