About me - Erin Yorke

About me

I am a 36 yr. old woman from Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, now living in Meteghan River, NS (south shore). I hold my BA -French major, English minor. I give free tutorials at the local library in French, Math, Phonics, and other educational stuff. I am helping a stroke victim learn to speak again through verbal exercises, too. In the past, I spent time with seniors at a local home, taught Sunday school, gave French tutorials, worked in a children's club for French learning, and sang in a Gaelic choir at St.Francis Xavier University (2002). Currently, I sing in a French choir at Universite Sainte Anne, where my husband works security and I took French Immersion.

I married Alexandre Muise on August 30, 2008.
I speak English, French, and Scottish Gaelic. I love language, jokes, reading, sitcoms, some movies, surfing the net, and my family. I love to garden and am learning to cook better. I love to look up recipes online (sometimes on Helium!) and try them out.

I also do some surveys and some reward programs to supplement my income. I am a born again Christian and I love kids.I have a sense of humor and love a great joke. I have always believed it is better to laugh than cry! A chance to learn, share and earn a little money are what have brought me to Helium. I also love to meet interesting people here on Helium, so if you like what you see, drop me a line!

I know too much about ...

How to Procrastinate:) and Suffering the Consequences for it :)

My parents always told me ...

Be good to your family, because they will be there for you no matter what. You might as well love them, because you are stuck with them, anyway- like it or not. Love God and People, Don't Lie, Don't Talk too Much, STOP PROCRASTINATING! (I'll get around to learning that someday, Mom, honest!) Learn to Cook!

My favorite memory ...

When I was at my wedding rehearsal and kissed my fiance on the lips before the minister could practice saying "I now pronounce you husband and wife." Reading the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S.Lewis at age 9 and discovering a passion for talking about it with my friends

Why I write ...

I have lots to say and actually get paid for it for once. No, seriously. I like to share what I have learned or think I know about different life skills. Hopefully something I have created will enlighten or help you. I also like to share thoughts on important things like relationships, faith, or ideas. As a literature major, I wrote several essays I was rather proud of and kept. Sharing them here reminds me of how much I enjoyed writing them in the first place and how much I liked those courses

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Homer's Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I learned about love and life from a Blind Wonder Cat by Gwen Cooper:,Readers' Digest, cookbooks from the library, Survivor, Daily Planet, Little Mosque on the Prairie, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Malcolm in the Middle Reruns, French cds: Paul Baloche & friends: Ouvre les yeux de mon coeur, Grande Derangement,

My first job ...

taking care of a ferret who bit my ankles and seemed to laugh at me

My best moment ...

Defining moment: When I was baptized at 17 in a river at a Christian camp, graduating from STFX, Life Moment: my fiance finally asking me to marry him after lots of broad hints from me

My inspiration ...

JESUS, my fiance, parents and grandparents, Mother Teresa, profs, good Christian role models, people who endure crap and still come out smiling and trusting God at the end aka Job in the Bible. Little kids who trust a big God!:)- The devil is afraid of these mighty little warriors who love and serve Jesus!:)

Whatever you choose, do not drench the sandwich with condiment.  Next, add the eggs. The eggs can be hard boiled, scrambled, or poached. If necessary, chop or mash them up until they are e...
