He was born to me.

He smiled at me.

He laughed at me.

He hugged me.

He kissed me.

Then he was gone

taken from me

not to even remember.

Being raised by another.

There's hurt that fills my heart

when I think of him.

I tell myself that one day

I will be able to tell him

that he is my everything.

He is my sunshine

in the morning.

He is my moon

in the evening.

He is the song

a blue-jay sings

on a bright spring morn.
