As a legal assistant for an attorney in Eureka, CA, I've learned to pay attention to the details. In a real property practice we are constantly investigating the details that affect transactions. That pretty well describes my character one who pays attention to the details - whether in researching facts of a case, proofreading briefs, or bookkeeping/business management. Is it any wonder then that this character trait has developed into a passion for historical research and History itself? Music - an art involving detail in execution - is my other passion. Playing piano is my retreat into the beautiful music of classics and contemporaries. Both passions, through attention to detail, allow my mind to experience another world.
Books, whether in print or audio, draw me into another world to discover more about someone or something. Add this love of books to my passion for detail and research and you get a baby-boomer-want-a-be-writer-of-historical-fiction.
My children (3) are grown and have moved away. Four beautiful grandchildren are growing quickly, one on the East Coast (oh so far away) and three on the West Coast. Along with my husband and two "meowly" cats, I live on the Northern Coast of California, the land of the giant redwoods and wild and scenic rivers.
Retirement looms in the not so distant future for my husband and he is anxious for it. I, however, would like to work part-time while developing a writing career. Travel is in our plans, though not back to Iran where we spent two years in the late 70s, leaving just before the Shah was ousted. We've been to some pretty amazing places, Israel, parts of Europe, England, Australia and New Zealand.
Despite the historical significance of all of these places I am drawn to my own country and its history during the mid to late 19th Century. I can't help but purchase books, magazines and artifacts from this time period even to the point of collecting the heavy, yet beautiful Morgan Silver Dollars minted during that time. The stacks of materials around my desk are growing and will continue to do so as I conduct research for a historical novel. I hope to convey some sense of the people, places and events of this turbulent time in our history and through historical fiction draw the readers into the story and make them a part of it.
Just as my cat Ginger has found a warm, comfortable place on my lap, so I long for more time to lapse into that warm, comfortable world of writing.

Today people with wheat allergies have a variety of alternative grains for cooking and baking. Whether we’ve been diagnosed with Celiac’s disease, a severe allergic reaction to gluten, or just feel better without wheat in our diets, we can still enjoy dishes and baked goods made from gluten free grains. Many are nutritious and good sources of fiber and protein. If you are allergic to wheat, then you should avoid any flours or grains that contain wheat and gluten.
