Born and raised in Belgium, I followed the normal path of school, college, university until some professors told me it was probably better for everybody if I tried something else. For the next 7 years, I worked as a roadie, barman, software engineer, programmer and web-developer until finally, in 1999, I saw the light. Traveling was going to be my primary goal in life. To see whether this was going to work at all, I took off to Colombia, and had an amazing time there. After that, I started working in a beachclub in Holland. And that's where I am at now: 6 months of hard work during European Summer, and see the world in the remaining 6 months.
I travel as a backpacker and stay in hostels most of the time. South- and Central America are my favorites, and I'm looking for a way to make either my home in the (near) future. I do realize I will need money do just that, which is why I joined Helium, to see what other people had to say on the subject. After reading some of the articles I decided that I should give the writing thing (is that what professionals call it?) a go, and see whether I get commented on it. So from now on, I AM going to call myself a writer as well. It'll be interesting to see where this leads to.
Everybody needs to edit a picture at one point or other, but who wants to fork down a few hundred dollars for a full version of Photoshop? Unless you're a professional, you won't use half of the options these Pro packages offer and it takes some learning time before you'll come up with some satisfying result.
