One might wonder what you'd like to know about me. I could bore you with the details of my average life, but I think you might find the details of my dreams to be much more interesting. My dreams have changed slightly over the years, but a few things have remained constant. To find a job that makes me want to get out of bed in the morning, to find my soul mate who makes me not want to get out of bed in the morning, to make at least one person smile every day, and lastly to raise my children to be responsible members of society. I wake each morning working to make my dreams a reality. I've achieved some level of success, but have a ways to go. Once I've realized those dreams or some version of those dreams, they will change slightly and I'll continue on my journey.

There are many different types of mentoring programs. I'll speak from my experience and acknowledge there may be some programs where race is important. Our local mentoring program does not match mentors and children based on race and I'm very grateful for that. I met Jeffrey in the fall of his 6th grade year. It was a first for both of us.
