About me - Diane Callahan

About me

I've always been an avid reader and I believe that is what led me to being a writer. I write to please myself and have not had much of an eye towards publishing, mostly because my inner editor is too harsh. I push on, anyway, and have three novels in the works. I've been known to dabble in short stories, some flash fiction, and poetry, as well.

I grew up in Chicago and currently live in New York. Besides reading and writing, I enjoy photography, drawing, cross-stitching, and traveling. Also, I will admit to being fascinated by anything relating to the paranormal, UFOs, lost civilizations, etc. I love animals and will always have pets. Right now it is two cats named Schmitty and Willow.

I joined Helium with the express purpose of improving my writing skills. But I've found it is also a great way to inspire creativity, with so many topics to write about. I'm very excited about this!

Who could resist? I was married, but even married women cannot resist the pull of curiosity, the wondering if perhaps someone you know is looking for love in all the wrong places. Most of these sites felt to me like being thrown to the wolves; you put yourself out there and hope someone thinks you're photo is worthy enough for a peek at your profile.
