I am a single dad originally from upstate New York. My passion for writing began as a young "tween" first with short stories, then Poetry had taken a hold of me until my mid twenties.
The years that I spent writing poetry afforded me numerous submissions around the world, and gathered an impressive collection of photo copied rejection letters. During those years the rejection letters that had personal signatures were framed and placed prominently on the wall.
It was during my college years that I had first met what many writers and artist call a "Muse" and my writing was instantly thrown into turmoil. While I had always had a passion for writing the inspirational fuel brought on by the artistic influence of this "Muse" was rocket fuel in the Vespa scooter that my writing was at the time. I was completely incinerated.
From the ashes of an uncontrollable influx of material I had written "The Painter that Fell" a six hundred page novel, and promptly buried it in my backyard. It was a spastic, coming of age tale, written entirely free form and without discipline. It took a year to write it and would most likely take two more to make it readable. With The novel complete, I began Sci-Fi short story series called "TBOI" (The Best of Intentions), drew cartoons for several years, and worked on the craft of writing at a painfully slow pace. I would always recommend to young writers to learn the craft of writing before indulging in the passion.
It was not until the creation of helium.com that I felt the technology had caught up to my desired pursuit. Glad to be here at Helium and hope you enjoy the articles.

They were forced to endure mile after mile of sibling entrenchment and AM radio, which made each trip a character building journey, or so their parents would say. Things have come a long way since then, most cars are air conditioned, but more significantly the rising cost of gasoline, and the falling prices of air travel had made it easier and ...
