About me

Briefly me

My passion is ...

My passions are the things that make me want to wake up every morning: picking up that Nikon D50, grabbing my journal and pencil, and writing about the first thing I feel passionate about. This is not an everyday occurence, but someday I hope it will be.

I know too much about ...

You can never know too much about anything. I aim to learn something new every day.

My parents always told me ...

My parents always told me to clean the kitchen. To be honest. But more importantly, they told me to find something I like to do, and run as fast as I can towards it until I'm right on top of it. It has no escape now.

My childhood ambition ...

My childhood ambition was to become a professional soccer player. Too bad I have bursitis in both knees. After I realized that limping around a soccer field just wasn't going to work, I got the idea of becoming a photojournalist - something I am still aspiring towards.

My favorite memory ...

It's hard to choose just one memory that stands out among all the rest. There are just too many to pick from. Pretty much any time that I am happy and enjoying life is the kind of memory I like to keep.

Why I write ...

I write because I have a fear of public speaking. I want to speak, but I got this lock on my lips that forces all the words through my fingers instead.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I am reading The Deception of the Emerald Ring by Lauren Willig, because I'm addicted to romance novels. I don't watch much television, because I feel like it's a waste of time. When you're out to save the world, there really isn't time to watch fake people live their written-out lives. Right now, I'm listening to Club Foot by Kasabian, but in general I'm really into electronic music, and chill tunes that are good for sleeping to.

My first job ...

My first job was typical: babysitting. It paid better than most of my friends' jobs at restaurants and whatnot. Even though the children were probably more work, and therefore deserved the extra cash.

My best moment ...

My best moment was at an assembly in eleventh grade. An organization called Rachel's Challenge came to my school to talk about the girl who was killed in the Columbine shooting, Rachel Scott. It really changed my life; it made me want to be a better person, and start writing more. It completely transformed my thoughts on life and inspired me to do something worth doing.

My inspiration ...

Bummer, I kind of answered this in the previous question. Rachel Scott has been a major inspiration to me, but something else is the movie Fight Club. I can't even explain that one though, it just inspires me.

Trivial little events are the center of our lives. They carry no significance, and yet they are everything to us, In this vast expanse of space and time. It feels like it will go on forever, But what is the point when I just live and die? What do I do when I am alive? Nothing I do is ever going to make a difference. Nothing makes a difference. It's impossible to put ourselves and others first at the same time. We're a mess of hypocrites jumbled up in the same ideas. Every little thing we do is just a game. We are the pawns, with all our tricksy moves. Our sly, pathetic, selfish tricks. And...
