I grew up in a bubble as a child. I didn't know anything about the world around me. OK, bubble was just to get your attention. It is, however, how I feel looking back over the last 36 years I have been on this planet.
I have always had a passion for writing and giving my opinion on subjects that I feel very passionate about. I have always been told, "You should be a writer", friends and family ask me for advice on their writing and/or to write it for them. I will be my own critic here and say to you, I do not know exactly how to format what I want to say as many other scholars on here. Now that's out of the way I can move forward and give you something to think about in my writing.
I grew up a country boy but not a cowboy. I thought all kids grew up swimming in the ditches in their front yards, as well as, fishing in their front yard ditch. We used to go to the river each day and swing from the rope hanging down by the river. We used to have a barrel between two trees hanging on a rope and pretended it was a bull.
I was taught, however, to be strong in work ethics and to never let anyone put you down. My mother was the parent who taught me all that she could. My father worked very hard and held his job for 34 years.
I didn't have many friends growing up because most of the boys I grew up with down the street were always bullying me. I put myself in a corner in my mind that wouldn't allow those negative things they did to me to reflect who I was later in life. Maybe those things they did made me who I am today? Who knows!
