Having always had a major interest in writing and music,I am lucky enough these days to have an outlet for both. On the music front I play in a couple of bands, these days mainly at a local level. My writing seem to sprawl across a wide range of genres and formats. Coming from a background in reviewing, mainly music, reference books and films, it now encompasses live music reviews and interviewing, political, religious and social opinion, academic essays, historical research, humour, song lyrics and even the occasional piece of poetry or prose. Whilst the bulk of this is submitted to on-line sites such as Helium, it has also found its way into local music magazines, local and national newspapers, pagan magazines, DVD review sites, RPG magazines and satirical publications. There always seems to be the outline of a novel or an unfinished short story on the back burner also.
Always on the look out for a challenge, I don't see my writing as being bounded only by the areas that I have worked in so far and am interested in any proposals that come my way.
There is a host of writing on my blogs, some of which is duplicated here, but much which isnt. Check out the links on the right for loads of topics.
My passion is ...
to debate, inform, educate and entertain, be it through my scribblings, musical work or just in a social capacity. I am not so concerned with whether I have all the answers, but I do like to provoke people into thinking about new subjects and ideas.

obscure music and dusty historical information
My parents always told me ...
not to join sites like this.
My childhood ambition ...

My favorite memory ...

Why I write ...
it expands minds, yours and mine
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Its probably going to be something most people haven't heard of. Can't be doing with run of the mill I'm afraid..
My first job ...

Hope you don't mind me making this a top ten as I would find it impossible to limit it to just five, ten was hard enough as it was. Apologies over and on with the show.Films for me have always been an escape mechanism from the humdrum of everyday concerns. For those two hours or so films have the ability to take you to another place, at one extreme a different life in a world that you are familiar with, at the other a whole fantasy realm where everything is different. My own personal favourites tend to lie in the furthest reaches of the imagination, be it historical, science fiction, horror...
