I hold a BA in English and African-American Studies from a midwestern university. I hold an MS in American History from the same university. I have three wonderful children (one of whom also writes for Helium), a fantastic husband, and three cats. I currently reside in upstate New York at the foothills of the Adirondacks. My career has been varied-nutritional consultant, teacher, academic mentor. But, then, I feel life is an adventure-I have never wanted to feel "stuck" in a box!
