I am currently a junior at Ohio University where I am majoring in creative writing. Although fiction is my "home" when it comes to writing, I also enjoy editorializing just about anything that strikes my fancy, whether it's politics, movies or the total lack of customer service I receive in most coffee shops.
In addition to writing for pleasure, I write a monthly column for my local newspaper and was recently published in the North Central Review. I participate annually in National Novel Writing Month; 2008 was my fourth year and by far my favorite. I also hold the title of Cleveland Literature Examiner. I am always open for criticism and support in anything I write, and will offer it myself. I love hearing from and meeting new people. :)
My passion is ...
the English language; reading; writing; philosophy; driving with my windows down and music up
I know too much about ...
spelling.
My parents always told me ...
to speak softly and carry a big stick. Wait...that's Roosevelt. My parents always tell me I need to relax a little! They tell me everything I need to know, and sometimes more -my mom is also my best friend.
My childhood ambition ...
was apparently to be an artist, going by the picture I drew in kindergarten that still hangs on the refrigerator...
My favorite memory ...
is yet to be made. I have memories I treasure, but I'd hate to be presumptuous!
Why I write ...
It's in my blood. It gives me a way to put my mark on the world and express myself creatively.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
Anything with Audrey Hepburn or Peter O'Toole in it, movie-wise. Music runs anywhere from Duran Duran and Chicago to Antonin Dvorak.
My first job ...
was in an ill-fated bookstore, alas. The aliterate community in which I live didn't take to it very well.
My best moment ...
any moment in which I feel like I'm really living, not just going along with the daily grind.
My inspiration ...
can come from anywhere. The ocean is a big favorite of mine-the Atlantic off of Seabrook Island is the best place I've ever been. Events that happen in my day, things that make me happy or angry and sometimes just a word; inspiration just happens.

There is a movie called Labyrinth, and it certainly lives up to its name. Lush in twists, turns and strangeness, as well as fairly well-advanced special effects and David Bowie in tights, this movie was a cult classic from day 1. From the first scene with Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) reciting a passage from her favorite book, "Labyrinth" to the last, viewers will be hooked and left wanting more. Nothing catches the heart and minds of fantasy-lovers quite as much as this movie. For 1986, the puppeteering and staging of many scenes is very advanced. To an avid watcher, the movie is as real as t...
